In comparison essay, you can compare ideas, country, people, or other things. The subject of this kind of essay are two items that relate in some way.
1- Similarities or differences
2- Show the reader
+ How these items are similar or different.
+ What strength or weakness
+ What advantages and disadvantages
3- The method ( Block Method or Point-by-Point Method).
In the same ways of other essays, the comparison essay has introduce paragraph, that usually contains three parts
1- The hook
2- Connecting information
3- The thesis statement

In the body, there are two basic methods to organize the comparison essay the block method and point-to point method.
Block Method
You describe all the similarities in the first body paragraph, and then all differences in the second and third body paragraph
Introduction (P 1)
The writer provides body paragraphs detailing the similarities and another body paragraphs explaining the differences.- Attract the reader’s attention. (The Hook)
- Provide background information about your topic.
- Identify the two things being compared and contrasted.
- State the purpose for making the comparison and/or contrast.
- State the thesis.
- In the first and second paragraph, discuss the similarities. (P 2,3)
- In the third and fourth paragraph, discuss the differences. (P 4,5)
- Paraphrase the thesis.
- Summarize the main similarities and differences.
- Paraphrase the importance of the topic.
